song: Nobody's Fault
(© 1976 Tyler/Whitford)
Lyrics
Our version of one of our favourite Aerosmith songs from their epic 1976 album "Rocks". A very timely song, we tweaked the lyrics a little bit to enhance its relevancy in the face of climate change.

Lord, I must be dreamin'
What else could this be?
Everybody's screamin'
Runnin' for the sea
Holy lands are sinkin'
Birds take to the sky
The prophets all are stinkin' drunk
I know the reason why!
Eyes are full of desire
Mind is so ill-at-ease
Everything is on fire
Shit piled up to the knees
Out of rhyme or reason, everyone's to blame
Children of the season, don't be lame
Sorry, you're so sorry
Don't be sorry
Man has known it, now he's blown it
Upside down and hell's the only sound, we did an awful job
And now they say it's nobody's fault!
Yet another heatwave
Yet another drought
Yet another fire
Time is running out
There are those of courage
Listen with their ears
Screaming like Cassandras
When no one really hears
One of these days you'll be sorry
Too many fuck-ups you can't fix
Three hundred K but what's the story?
Losing it all just for kicks?!
Out of rhyme or reason, everyone's to blame
Children of the season, don't be lame
Sorry, you're so sorry
Sorry
Man has known it, now he's blown it
Upside down and hell's the only sound, we did an awful job
And now we're just a little too late!
Eyes are full of desire
Mind is so ill-at-ease
Everything is on fire
Shit piled up in debris
California's burning
Five o'clock's the news
All our noble leaders prefer to take a snooze
Sorry, you're so sorry
Don't be sorry
Man has known it, now he's blown it
Upside down and hell's the only sound, we did an awful job
And now we're just a little too late!
(Draining all the rivers / to wash your SUVs / Crops turned into desert / for your petty needs.)
Story
Nowadays, climate change poses a much larger threat to California than earthquakes which feature prominently in the original lyrics. Rising temperatures and prolonged dry spells leave the earth scorched and liable to wildfires and drought.
We therefore changed the lyrics a little bit to reflect this.
