Story
We originally wrote this song in 1993, when we were 16 years old.
It formulates the steadfast belief that you shouldn’t cut back on your ideals and dreams, these are not for compromising!
We recently added the middle – “They try to convict us for our convictions. But we sail by the compass of compassion!” – after we again and again witnessed people being prosecuted for standing up for the planet, for animal- and human rights, prosecuted for following their compass of compassion.
Life can be confusing and multi-layered, but compromising your values in order to fit in more smoothly with a world people in power want you to believe is the only one possible - that’s just not an option!
We ain’t willing to compromise our dreams and we don’t care if mainstream society views us as ‘successful’ or not - we proclaim that staying true to your moral compass and to your dreams is the most important success you can achieve. If you achieve that, then you “got it all”!
